Comme des Garcons - Silver Words CdG #2 50ml

The bottle (the signature custom pebble shaped glass) is in matte black with silver text: words of peace, freedom and love in various languages.

The tube style box is great, but it was the black bubble wrap that really got my attention.

Churchill Wine

Churchill

Via Design Week:

"Interbrand has refreshed Churchill Wines’ identity and redesigned the packaging across all its port and wine ranges.

The consultancy, appointed last April, won the business following a strategic competitive pitch against three other groups.

A brief was developed to refresh the brand by addressing its three core values of ‘purity, passion and patience’, according to Daniela Nunzi Mihranian, creative director at Interbrand.

An initial brief to look at the wine range was quickly widened to incorporate port. ‘We had to work across both portfolios,’ says Nunzi Mihranian.

The new packaging for the Portuguese-based wine group is said to reflect the environment in which it is produced. ‘We went to the Douro Valley, which inspired the photographs and illustrations on the packaging,’ explains Nunzi-Mihranian.

She says that these values are represented by the tagline ‘Worth waiting for’, which has been coined by Interbrand.

The marque has been adapted across all ranges and the typeface has also been clarified. ‘We brought the crown back, which the company didn’t always use, and, as the typeface is quite iconic, we just tweaked it,’ says Nunzi Mihranian.

An embossed logo appears on the bottle in black gloss, printed onto a thick paper stock, to show ‘purity and simplicity’, according to Nunzi Mihranian"

Emeyu Tea

Emeyu is a UK based company with an outstanding selection of pure, precious and fragrant teas, sourced from Asia's most distinguished organic gardens. Emeyu specializes in rare teas, an increasingly sought after delicacy, exquisitely packaged and available directly via their website or through premium retailers including Harvey Nichols in London.

Allora, a New York branding agency under the creative direction of Janice Pedley, developed the identity, packaging and website. The brand features a vivid green background with layered Chinese illustrations: a contemporary interpretation of the ancient art of tea culture, that clears the mind and enriches the spirit.

There are 65 teas in total, available individually or in a beautifully presented "tea library", including four carefully chosen blends.

Avon_marimekko_group_shot1

Today on design*sponge, one of my regular reads, I saw these beautiful packages designed for Avon by Finnish textile and clothing company Marimekko.

From the press release:

The Marimekko for Avon Color Collection interprets Marimekko's unique philosophy - design that creates beauty into people's everyday lives. The collection features Marimekko's iconic Unikko pattern designed by Maija Isola in 1964. Her daughter Kristina Isola re-interpreted the Unikko design with a unique look and fresh coloring for Avon. The collection contains four limited edition color products, including eyeshadow, face powder, lip gloss and mascara, as well as accessories.
